焊接完成后，先清理焊渣，用角磨机把焊点打磨平整，不能有尖锐突起和凹陷。打磨干净的焊点，和护栏其他部位一起做热浸镀锌处理——把整个构件浸入440℃-470℃的锌熔液中，表面生成锌铁合金层和纯锌层。热浸镀锌的好处是没有死角，焊缝的缝隙、管内壁都能被锌层覆盖，防锈期可达20-50年。镀锌之后再喷塑或刷漆，是双重防护。
